PhotoSpills Trading Cards

This document details the five elements required to design a PhotoSpills trading card.  After buying a trading card design on eBay, you will be asked to read this document and provide choices for these five elements.

The image on the left is a sample trading card to be used for reference.  (No photo has been put into this card.)  Please refer to this sample when reading the discussion below.  This may help us design a trading card for you.

COLORS
A blank trading card has four colors.  In the above sample, red is used as the outsize color, green is used for the inside color, yellow is the caption color and black is the font color.  Any color can be used for those four areas.

Usually, white and black work well for at least two of those (outside and font).  Your team colors will be used for the other card colors.  If you have a photo or a web site that displays those colors, we can match them exactly.  If you just indicate red and blue, we will take liberty to grab compatible shades of the colors.

EMBLEM
Your team mascot/logo/emblem will be placed in a corner of the card.  In the sample above, a monkey head is used for this image.  Like selecting colors, we can make that exact image if you have a web site or photo that shows the image.

If you want, you can make the cards without any image in the corner.  If you just want a generic character, like "a parrot"... we will find a parrot for you.

FONT
In the above trading card sample, a basic font is used to write the word Caption.

Does your team use a specific font?  For example, the St. Louis Cardinals uses this distinctive script.

We will try to match any font that you use.  Again, showing the font in a photo or a web site would help us design your card.  A basic font will be used when none is specified.

CAPTION
Your trading card can have multiple captions, but we will create your basic card with one default caption.  The caption in the sample above says Caption.  The caption could be the name of your team, city, player, etc.  Once you receive your trading card, you can add more captions to it to match up with specific photos (for team members).

NAME
Each trading card requires its own name (to use for selecting it from a list).  This name does not show up in any collage that you create.  If you don't care, we will assign a name to the trading card.

Once you pay for your eBay purchase, we will send you an email that outlines the steps you need to take.

If you can, please send photos or point us to web sites that show examples for us to use.
